$1 million Bugatti Veyron Crash

An American millionaire has blamed a low-flying pelican for crashing his million-dollar Bugatti Veyron into a lagoon.

Texan Andy House had only just taken delivery of the supercar and was on a test drive when he skidded off a road.

He told cops that he had dropped his mobile phone and after picking it up had been startled by a low-flying pelican sending him careering into the water.

The car, which is named after a Grand Prix racing driver of the mid-20th century, is claimed to be the world’s fastest production car and is one of only 15 in the US.

Andy escaped unhurt in the crash, which is more than can be said for his beloved car which is a write-off.

The crash is fast becoming an internet hit after it was caught on camera by a passing motorist who has posted the footage on YouTube.
