To most of us it may be the perfect tonic to that mid-morning lull. But to Stewart Hefti a cup of tea has completely different connotations.
The RAF serviceman who was injured in Iraq has set an unusual world record - for flying the most loop-the-loops while drinking a cuppa.
Corporal Stewart Hefti, who recovered from serious leg injuries sustained in Basra two years ago, completed 14 loop-the-loops as a passenger during the stunt, which was part of a fundraising initiative for RAF personnel and their families.
Cpl Hefti, 27, was on patrol with First Squadron, RAF Regiment, in 2007 when his unit came under fire, killing one of his fellow gunners.
He was one of a number of members of the patrol who were injured.
But with help from the Regional Rehabilitation Unit at RAF Honington, Suffolk, Cpl Hefti overcame his injuries and was able to rejoin colleagues in Afghanistan earlier this year.
Speaking after completing his record at the RAF Museum Cosford, near Wolverhampton, he said: 'When we first took off I was more worried about the tea staying in the cup, but after the first loop I realised it would and I started to enjoy it more.
'It was only after we landed that I started to feel a bit queasy.
'I just wanted to give something back to the RAF Association who did so much for me and my family after my injury.'
The new record was set at the launch of the RAF Association's programme of Brew for the Few events, named after Churchill's famous 'never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few' speech, commemorating the bravery of RAF personnel in World War II.
During September, a series of fundraising tea parties are being held throughout the UK to raise money for the association.
Flying the plane was former RAF Red Arrows team leader Andy Offer, who is now a pilot with UK aerobatics team The Blades.
